| Finding your way around |
|
On every page you'll find two 'menus'. The first runs across the screen below the four heading pictures, and gives you access to main sections of the site - Books, Articles, Interests and so on. Click any one of these options and you'll be taken to an overview or introduction page for that section. The name of the section you're viewing at any time is highlighted in a black box. The second menu is on the left-hand side of the screen. This shows the contents of each section. When you switch between sections using the main menu, this sub-menu automatically updates. The name of the page you're viewing is highlighted in bold. You'll also find that many pages have a dropdown menu near the bottom giving you access to related pages - simply click on the arrow and choose the link you want from the list, and you'll be taken to that page. Finally, if you get lost you'll find that at the very bottom of every page there is a group of links to popular and useful pages, including this help page and the site map. Embedded links You'll also find that the text on the page sometimes includes hidden links. Point at any piece of text with your mouse pointer; if a line appears underneath and/or your mouse pointer turns into a pointing finger, it means that there's a link you can follow by clicking the mouse button. Links to other websites automatically open in a new window. Picture links Many of the pictures on this site are linked to larger versions. Click on any image you'd like to see in more detail, and if a bigger version is available it will 'pop up' in a new window. This function will only work if your web browser has Javascript enabled (see Which web browser?). More helpFor help with PDF files please see this page.
